No visit to Cape Town is complete without a visit to Table Mountain. There is more than one way to reach the summit including a cozy cable car.

It’s not as simple as it may look
I chose to hike up the Platteklip gorge route.
I couldn’t have chosen a better day, it was nice and sunny yet chilly and pleasant
I think the best way to describe this trail is to imagine your Stairmaster- intensity set between 6 & 8,take out the boring interior and the TV screen. Now add refreshing fresh air, splendid views all around , birds chirping, friendly co-hikers (almost from all over the world) greetings with broad smiles, occasional hi fives and you got it.

One of the best Stairmaster you can ever imagine
This route is quite popular and hence a bit busy. It was a demanding 5KM uphill trek but I took my own sweet time clicking pictures which made it an enjoyable experience.

At the summit!
The shots from the summit will follow in the next post.
And here’s what Strava has to say about this activity 🙂
